Embargoed! Official Photographer!
In May of this year, I was asked by the Fevzi Hussein, chairperson of the human rights group Embargoed! if I would like to photograph an important seminar which was due to take place in north London. The seminar focussed on various issues surrounding Turkish Cypriots; past and present and attended by key speakers including; writer/journalist Jonathan Fryer & Embargoed! member Ersu Ekrem. The event was attended by various dignitaries including, Gina Adamou, the Mayor of Haringey.
This was a hugely successful event by the whole team and it was well received by those that attended and in the media. It was really rewarding to see my photographs in various press releases by the London Turkish papers and on websites.
As a result of this collaboration, much to my delight, I was asked if I would like to join the organisation and work as their official photographer.
I have accepted this great opportunity and have since, also photographed a live TV studio broadcast on Genc TV, which I really enjoyed (photos of both events can be seen in the 'corporate' section of my gallery).
I am looking forward to attending the E! AGM which takes place at the end of July, where I will be photographing the evening and getting to know members of the E! team.
